Parents,

Fourth graders will begin Chapter 10 in their math book this week. Geometry! They did great at long division. Awesome. They will write a narrative this week. The spelling list is up, Mrs. McElroy's List #8, Synonyms. They will continue reading Cendrillion this week and working with prefixes and suffixes.
The fifths are continuing with Chapter 7 in mathematice, adding and subtracting, multiplying and dividing, integers. Their test is currently planned for Thursday, February 10th. They are continuing their writing of a persuasive, toastmasters is coming up real soon. Also, they will be complete smaller, in class, writing assignments meant to develp individual skills. Fifth graders do a lot with grammar and that will continue this week as well. The students have been doing great work in class.
This past week we were lucky enough to enjoy some art with Mrs. Oliphant. The kids are very creative. It was great fun. We are reading the book "The Watson's go to Birmingham, 1963" and loving it. That is read whole group and it is followed by differentiated based activities.
We are having fun and working real hard.
Take care,
Mrs.
