A brand new trimester starts today. I will update all grades for the last trimester tonight and tomorrow, including the long awaited AR grades. Then I will open a new grade book, for the second trimester. All students start with a clean slate.
This next trimester, I will be less lenient with late or missing papers. Late work will be lowered to 70 percent credit after one week. The late work will also have an impact on the next reportcard's effort grades. To receive an O, the students may have no more than two late assignments. To receive an S, the students may have no more than 5 late assignments. Any more than 5 late assignments and your child will recieve an N on his or her report card.
Finally, remember that the standard for AR next trimester is 4 books. I will accept very few students writing for AR points this trimester. They should read an AR book and take a test on the computer.
Otherwise, it will be a busy week ahead. We have lots of play rehearsals coming up. Very exciting. We are moving to mostly common core standards in all curricular areas.
