Parents and Students,
I hope all are well and everyone had a nice weekend. We a nursing a small cold here in my house (the boy is coughing) but otherwise we are well. Parents and students, remember to wash those hands, a lot, for at least 30 seconds. Don't share food, or beverages. Flu season is upon us.
Tomorrow morning my students will take a test on the Middle States. They have known about this for a long time and even chose the test date theirs elves. They have also had much time in class to study. Good luck everyone.
My math students are continuing with Chapter 4, with daily reviews on multi -digit division and multiplication with decimals. A make up date for the test still has not been set yet. I want them ready!
Mrs. Bague's class took their science test on Friday. Once I review the tests, if necessary, I will give them the opportunity to improve their scores. I will see them on Monday, but then it is back to Mr. Bague's class for Social Studies and I get my own students back for more science. We will start on Chapter 8, Changes in Matter.
My students will have a test in Mr. Bague's class on Monday for Social Studies.
Keep checking your child's Jupiter Grades. The last day of the grading period is November the 2nd. Email me with any questions or clarifications. There are a lot of papers to grade each week and sometimes it takes time to get them corrected and entered into the computer. I am accepting all late work, which is not the norm for fifth grade. But this is a particular discipline (getting all work in, on time, with names) which needs some extra work. Next trimester, I will begin to lower grades of students who turn in late work. Hopefully, by the end of the year we will have students who are focused, and turning in everything on time.
